Engineering the Cities of the Future
As part of Engineers Week Ireland,Primary 7 watched the video 'Cities of the Future' which detailed futuristic engineering advances that are already in our world in places like Singapore and the Netherlands.
Following the viewing,the class took to imagining and designing their own futuristic plans.
Here are a list of their proposals,future engineers no doubt!
- Robotic Laundry organiser
- Automatic tree planter
- Human carrying drones
- Sprinkling windmills to water large areas
- Self driving planes and cars
- Machine which helps regulate human vitamin and mineral deficiencies
- An internal cancer detection system
- Robots to collect litter
- Shields that protect cities from war/Have a solar power function also
- Water car
- Aeroplane that runs on batteries
- Multi-Purpose buildings
- Teleportation
- Self-serving fridge
- Flying UFO cars which collect people with their legs
- Mega Turbine
- Driver that drives by itself
- Motorways specifically for hospitals
- Floating holiday homes
To finish off Engineers week in P7,the class will be using marshmallows and toothpicks to create solid structures. Watch this space for updates!
